Bennett’s Petroleum Supplies is empowering Tasmania with the state’s first 24/7 electric vehicle fast charger at Kempton’s iconic highway rest stop Mood Food.

Bennett’s launched the state-of-the-art charger at Kempton on 29 May giving motorists access to technology that is hassle-free and convenient.

The hi-tech BOLT 50KW DC unit is environmentally-friendly, easy to use and allows most electric car users to completely charge their vehicles within 30 minutes.

Bennett’s CEO Troy Bennett said the locally-owned and operated company was committed to helping Tasmania transition to renewable energy sources.

“Bennett’s is focusing on providing a sustainable, accessible and innovative electric vehicle charging network throughout the state,” Mr Bennett said.

“And we are Tasmania’s first petrol company to have an electric vehicle fast charger on one of its sites.

“The company is particularly excited about this latest development because the unit can be used 24-hours-a-day, 365-days-a-year.

“One of the reasons we installed it on the Midland Highway was to allow locals and tourists travelling on the national highway network to charge their vehicles quickly and conveniently before continuing on their journeys.”

Mr Bennett said Bennett’s was passionate, innovative and committed to embracing new and sustainable technology.

“Bennett’s doesn’t just supply fuel,’’ he said.

“We are a progressive company that focuses on energy efficiencies for future generations.

“And we work alongside industry leaders, including TasNetworks, Tritium and Chargefox, to ensure we are embracing the very latest technologies.

Bennett’s Petroleum Supplies offers its customers, employees and business associates an honest, dynamic and revolutionary relationship.

Motorists can use the charger without cost until 30 June 2019.
